Earlier today, we reported on a circulating rumor suggesting Apple's intention to unveil new hardware this week exclusively through a press release, without hosting an event. As predicted, Apple has indeed made the announcement. Although there's still no sign of new iPads, the company has introduced its latest MacBook Air laptops, available in 13-inch and 15-inch variants. These releases hold significant importance for Apple, with the 13-inch MacBook Air holding the title of the world's best-selling laptop and the 15-inch model claiming the same accolade for 15-inch laptops.

Both laptops are powered by Apple's M3 chip, boasting performance enhancements of "up to 60%" compared to models equipped with the M1 chip and "up to 13 times faster" than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air from previous years.
The Retina Display offers up to 500 nits of brightness, supports a billion colors, facilitates connectivity with up to two external displays (even when the lid is closed), and provides "up to 2 times the resolution of comparable PC laptops".

Furthermore, these laptops promise up to 18 hours of battery life, Wi-Fi 6E compatibility, two Thunderbolt ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a three-microphone array, Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support in the speakers, and Touch ID. They are offered in four colors: midnight (boasting a breakthrough anodization seal to minimize fingerprints), starlight, space gray, and silver.
The laptops are slated for release on Friday, March 8, with pre-orders commencing today across 28 countries. The 13-inch MacBook Air will be available starting at $1,099, while the 15-inch model starts at $1,299. Additionally, the 13-inch version equipped with the M2 chip remains available for $999.
