Yesterday, the initial speculative renders of the Galaxy Z Fold6 made their debut online, and now it's time for the Galaxy Z Flip6's design to take the spotlight. If you thought the Fold bore too much resemblance to its predecessor, brace yourself for the Flip.

The previous year ushered in significant changes to Samsung's clamshell foldable, featuring a notably larger cover display and a vastly improved hinge. It appears that the past year has been dedicated to refining the design rather than introducing major overhauls.

Reportedly, the Z Flip6 measures 165.0 x 71.7 x 7.4mm when unfolded, slightly larger than the Z Flip5's dimensions of 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9mm. With Samsung having already achieved a snugly closed design, the additional thickness is presumed to accommodate a larger battery – with some reports suggesting it could reach 4,000mAh (+300mAh compared to last year's model).

This increased thickness may also contribute to minimizing the crease by providing more space for the flex hinge, thereby reducing strain on the display when folded. These enhancements could potentially be marketed under the Ironflex moniker.

Regarding the inner display, indications suggest it will maintain its previous size at 6.7" diagonally. Similarly, the cover display is expected to remain at 3.4", although with a dual-camera setup encroaching on its space (despite some speculation of a possible increase to 3.9", such adjustments aren't evident in this design and these dimensions).

Anticipated improvements include a 50MP sensor for the main camera, a significant upgrade from the 12MP sensor found in previous Flip models. However, details regarding alterations to the ultra-wide module remain undisclosed, and the absence of a telephoto lens persists (though the primary camera now incorporates in-sensor zoom capabilities).

Lastly, in terms of colors, the video showcases the Z Flip6 in Lavender, while static renders display the Mint hue. Both shades bear a resemblance to their counterparts on the Z Flip5, albeit with subtle differences.

The anticipated announcement for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 is expected in August, following the customary timeline. This year, we may witness the introduction of two models within each family instead of one – a more premium Z6 Fold Ultra alongside a more affordable Z Flip6 FE.
